Bio
20-year-old New York native, Èbùn, has delved wholeheartedly into composition, conducting, songwriting, production, and multi-instrumentalism. Commissioned to write a piece for GRAMMY-award winning violinist, Johnny Gandelsman, at the age of 14, her piece was performed at Carnegie Music Hall and The Wallis. The full album, This is America: An Anthology 2020 - 2021, reached No. 2 on the Billboard Traditional Classical Chart.
Her songwriting has also been recognized by GRAMMY-nominated songwriter Tayla Parx, co-writer of Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next,” who selected Èbùn’s song from more than hundreds of Berklee students for a private masterclass.
In 2021, she won the Composers Now First Commission Award and wrote a saxophone trio for New Thread Quartet under mentorship by Pulitzer-Prize winner Tania León and Erin Rogers. That same year, Èbùn was featured on From the Top, where she was interviewed by Kevin Olusola, the beatboxer from the 3-time GRAMMY-Award winning group, Pentatonix, on NPR. Other works of hers have been performed by the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, the Syracuse Orchestra, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, BIT20 Ensemble in
the Bergen International Festival, Little Orchestra Society,
and The Apollo Ensemble of Boston.
